Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian presidential contender Paruyr Hayrikyan suggests calling up women for military service in the Armenian Armed Forces for 10 months.
Paruyr Hayrikyan said today that the idea he proposed three years back and discussed with current President Serzh Sargsyan, Mediamax reports.
The idea was approved by the Armenian Defense Minister but wasn't developed any further.
The idea is currently included in the election program of Paruyr Hayrikyan.
"In the first phase, women will study to drive cars, handle weapon and giving first aid", said Paruyr Hayrikyan.
