Yerevan/Mediamax/. As of the results of the public opinion poll conducted by The Gallup Organization and Armenian Sociological Association, 66% of the polled stated that they will vote for the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan at presidential elections due on February 18.
Presenting the results of the poll, member of the Board of Directors of Gallup Europe Rasa Alisauskene noted today that 10% of the respondents stated that they would vote for Raffi Hovhannisyan, 4% - Paruyr Hayrikyan and 4% - Hrant Bagratyan, Mediamax reports.
The second poll of The Gallup Organization was conducted among 1020 citizens having the voting right on January 15-23.
Rasa Alisauskene stressed that the Armenian voters demonstrate great interest to elections. "39% of the respondents stated that would definitely go to elections, 43 % - "will possibly go". Thus, in this phase of the election campaign taking into account various details, the turnout will make 61%", said The Gallup Organization representative.
Head of the Armenian Sociological Association Gevorg Poghosyan stated in his turn, that the results of the poll showed that "Prosperous Armenia" party lost definite portion of the electorate by not nominating its own candidate.
The third poll will be conducted on February 9. On the election day, an exit-poll will be conducted and its results will be published within 20 hours.
The polls are conducted upon "ArmNews" TV channel's order.
