Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today has stated that de-occupation of the territory of autonomous region of Nagorno-Karabakh must be considered an issue for future work.

“This is not a military task but an issue to be negotiated, a political matter. We have to consistently continue with the principle of remedial secession for Artsakh,” he said.

Commenting on the “Spoils of war” park opened in Baku, Pashinyan noted:

“It is simply unbelievable; we must use every possible structure and platform to draw everyone’s attention to the opening of a museum of war suffering and victims in a country that is the greatest manifestation of anti-Armenianism. This is the biggest basis for demonstrating to the international community the applicability of the principle of remedial secession.”

Touching on Armenia’s external security, Pashinyan has stressed that Armenian-Russian military alliance is at its core.

“In this regard, the Armenian-Russian joint military force and the Armenian-Russian joint air defense system within CSTO are of practical importance for Armenia. Under the agreements signed for these two systems, an attack on Armenia means an attack on Russia,” he said.

The PM has added that Armenian authorities are also discussing with their Russian counterparts enlargement of the capabilities of the 102nd military base in Armenia and establishment of a military base in Syunik.

“In the strategic perspective, we envision that the protection of the parts of Armenia’s state borders, which is now carried out by our armed forces, will be transferred to the border guards, and the army units will deal exclusively with the matters of combat readiness. The security of Artsakh will continue to be carried out by the Defense Army of Artsakh together with the Russian peacekeeping forces,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
