Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented his description of the political situation in the country today.

The head of the government, in particular, has stated:

“1. The “elite”, which lost power in Armenia because of the 2018 revolution, is trying to get revenge. Moreover, it concerns not only the political “elite”, but also all those who had privileges until 2018.

2. The people felt they were in power after the 2018 revolution and they do not want to lose that status, especially now, when some have taken advantage of the fact that the government is more preoccupied with security issues and acted on the principle “attend the protests or lose your job”.

Thus, the real opposition is not between the government and the opposition, but between the people and the “elite” that lost privilege in 2018. In any case, the people will have the decisive word, because if the people have their say, the “elites” can do nothing.

Of course, I will do my best so that the people do not miss the opportunity to have their say and do it. Nevertheless, at the moment, the priority for us is to ensure the external security of Armenia and Artsakh, and in these efforts, external security should not be jeopardized in any way.”
