Yerevan /Mediamax/. Member of the Bundestag and The Left (Die Linke) party Gregor Gysi has urged for expulsion of Turkey from OSCE Minsk Group.

He has made this call during the discussions on Artsakh in the Bundestag.

Gysi has also called on German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to end neutrality.

“In the current situation, it is no longer possible to remain neutral. Turkey and Azerbaijan have violated the previous agreement to resolve the conflict peacefully and politically. You cannot remain neutral on either the issue of Northern Cyprus or Karabakh. We must clearly condemn and stop the supply of German weapons to Turkey. Turkey must be expelled from the Minsk Group, it has nothing to do there,” Gysi said.

“A country where genocide was committed against Armenians, at least for the sake of ethics should remain at least neutral in any conflict with Armenia and not kill Armenians again,” stressed the deputy.

He has said that Turkey even joined the war without informing NATO and that Ankara was supplying not only weapons but also mercenaries from Syria.

“If NATO does not act decisively against this, it will render itself meaningless as a structure,” said Gregor Gysi.

Touching on Azerbaijan, he has noted that all attempts at a ceasefire lasted only minutes, as the President of Azerbaijan declares that he will wage this war “to the end.”

“He wants to take back the whole territory by force, contrary to the principles of negotiations. German government must strongly condemned this. Azerbaijan is now trying to seize the road connecting Karabakh to Armenia. If this happens, it will be a final humanitarian catastrophe for the civilian population of Karabakh,” said Gysi.
