Yerevan /Mediamax/. Council of Europe anticipates the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR) to make a decision soon on Armenia’s request for interim measures regarding the escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh, official representative of CoE Secretary General Daniel Holtgen has told TASS.
“ECHR has received Armenia’s request for interim measures according to Rule 39 of the court. I cannot say when the decision will be made, but I anticipate that it will be made soon,” underlined Holtgen.
Under Rule 39 of ECHR, the court may “indicate to the parties any interim measure which it considers should be adopted” at the request of a party concerned.
The interim measures are urgent measures which apply where there is an imminent risk of serious and irreparable harm for the applicant.
