Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in Tbilisi today that "it was an unprecedented year in terms of boosting cooperation between our countries”.
Serzh Sargsyan started a 2-day official visit to Tbilisi today.
“Over the past 2 years, our relations have been dynamically developing: there have been about 2 dozens of high-level visits covering all the spheres of our cooperation”, said the Armenian President speaking at the joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart.
Speaking about the prospective economic programs, Serzh Sargsyan said that “within coming months, we’ll launch construction works of the North-South highway with the best standards. Being linked with the Ninotsminda-Batumi highway on Georgia’s territory which is currently being repaired will make the cargo transportations from the Persian Gulf to Georgian ports faster and more convenient”.
“Each time when I come to Georgia, I realize that we interact very little. I want the leaders of all the ranks meet at least a few times a year as not only is it necessary to solve certain problems but to show the younger generation the high level of our relations. This year we have registered progress in 2-3 issues which are very fundamental to us and we are thankful both the President and Georgian government for it'', said Serzh Sargsyan.
