Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian government has approved the package of additions and amendments to the Law on the structure and activity of the government and several related laws at the session today.
The adopted package will reduce the staff of the first deputy minister, which means there will be two deputy ministers instead of three.
The number of ministries will decrease from 17 to 12.
“There will be staff reduction, but no mass layoffs. We need to keep the best employers,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He has stressed that “these changes are aimed at increasing the efficiency of state administration”.
The updated list of the ministries is as follows:
1) Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs,
2) Ministry of Health,
3) Ministry of Justice,
4) Ministry of Emergency Situations,
5) Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
6) Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport,
7) Ministry of Environment,
8) Ministry of Defense,
9) Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure,
10) Ministry of High Technology Industry,
11) Ministry of Economy,
12) Ministry of Finance.
