Yerevan/Mediamax/. Upon the decree of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia.

Prior to this appointment, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan served as Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe.

 

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, 45, is considered to be one of the most experienced officials of Armenia.

 

He has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991.

 

In 1993-1997, he was the First and then the Second Secretary in the Armenian Embassy in Great Britain.

 

In 1997-1999, he served as the head of the First European Department and then was appointed the head of Europe Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.

 

In 1999-2000, he was the head of Foreign Relations Department of Armenian President’s Staff.

 

In 2002-2008, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan was Armenia’s Permanent Representative in the UN Geneva Office and other international organizations, as well as Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland.

   

Since 2008, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has been Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe.

 

He has the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

 

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan is married and has two sons.
