Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian National Assembly elected Artur Davtyan as Armenian Public Prosecutor General by a closed secret voting.

Artur Davtyan received 97 for and 3 against votes.

 

It is worth reminding that the position of Prosecutor General has been vacant since Gevorg Kostanyan resigned on August 4.

 

Artur Davtyan was born on December 8, 1978, in Horom village of Shirak marz.

 

He graduated from Yerevan State University. Artur Davtyan is a Candidate of Juridical Sciences.

 

In 2012-2013, he worked as Public Prosecutor of Shengavit administrative region of Yerevan, and as Yerevan Public Prosecutor in 2013-2016. On June 22, 2016, he was appointed Deputy Public Prosecutor General of Armenia.

 

In 2000-2006, he taught at the Yerevan State University, giving lectures on criminal law and forensics. He also worked as a lecturer at French University in Armenia and Armenian State Pedagogical University.

 

He is married and has two daughters.
