Armenia and Great Britain sign an agreement on eliminating double taxation of income and property

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met in London with British Foreign Secretary William Hague and Minister of State responsible for European issues David Lidington.

Prior to the meeting, Edward Nalbandian and David Lidington signed a bilateral Armenian-British agreement on eliminating double taxation of income and property and preventing avoidance of taxation. 

 

Edward Nalbandian and British ministers also discussed issues related to the bolstering of the political dialogue, bilateral relations and cooperation in international organizations.

 

Edward Nalbandian said that the Armenian-British relations have a huge development potential and highlighted the importance of bolstering two countries’ relations in various spheres, including the economic cooperation, high technologies, energy, transportation and ecology.

 

The ministers also touched upon Armenia-EU cooperation. William Hague welcomed the deepening cooperation and the rapprochement between Armenia and the European Union.

 

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Great Britain also spoke about regional issues and ongoing developments in the Far and Middle East and North Africa.

 

The parties also minutely discussed issues related to the settlement of regional conflicts. Edward Nalbandian outlined Armenia’s position on the Karabakh conflict settlement, expressing the hope that it will be possible to resolve the conflict in case Azerbaijan exhibits relevant political will as well as real and constructive approach.
