Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan stated today at the Security Council session that "the main hill of Karaglukh – the highest point – is under our control, but some important hills are under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces today.”

“We understand that their goal was to invade the whole Karaglukh. Our purpose is for the Azerbaijanis to return to their starting positions. Our demand and request to the peacekeeping forces was the restoration of the status quo based on the trilateral statement. We will never change this demand,” he said.

Arayik Harutyunyan noted that the purpose of the Azerbaijan’s provocation was first of all to discredit the Russian peacekeeping forces.

“We consider that the Russian peacekeeping forces continue to carry out their mission, not counting that episode. We must be very vigilant until it is clear that Azerbaijan will not resort to such provocations. That is why in the future we will take much more radical and decisive steps in terms of our self-defense,” Arayik Harutyunyan said.
