Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the cabinet sitting today that the crisis of Parukh village of Artsakh emerged as a result of breaching the agreement.

He noted that in order to ease the tense situation in the region an agreement had been reached to withdraw a number of positions from Parukh-Khramort section in a mirror-way and the Russian peacekeeping contingent was to ensure the implementation of this agreement.

“Some Armenian positions have been withdrawn and peacekeepers deployed there but in front of their eyes Azerbaijanis infiltrated into the area of responsibility of the peacekeepers. We note with regret that despite the clear statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the United States, France and the United Nations, the incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh continues.

We expect the peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh to undertake concrete measures to ensure withdrawal of the Azerbaijani units from the area of their responsibility to restore the status quo registered by the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement. We also expect proper investigation into the actions of the peacekeeping troops during and after the incursion or their possible inaction,” Pashinyan said.

He reminded that before the mentioned events, for ten days the Azerbaijani armed forces fired in the direction of Khramort village, targeting a number of villages, residential houses and people carrying out agricultural work, equipment, and on October 9, 2021 a person carrying out agricultural works was killed in a tractor by an Azerbaijani sniper in Martakert in the presence of peacekeepers.
