Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani units opened fire at the units of the Artsakh Defense Army using firearms of different calibers and combat UAVs.

“As a result of the skirmish, adversary’s at least 5 servicemen were killed. There is one wounded from the Armenian side. As of 09:00, the situation is relatively stable. We expect the Russian peacekeepers to take measures to return the Azerbaijani units to their starting positions,” the Defense Army said in a statement.

The statement also says:

“On March 24 the units of the Azerbaijani armed forces infiltrated into the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping mission, taking under control Parukh village of Askeran region and the nearby positions, then tried to ensure advance in the eastern border zone of the Republic of Artsakh. The hours-long negotiations with the Russian peacekeeping troops and relevant bodies of Artsakh did not give essential results, and the adversary did not return to the starting positions.”
