Armenian MFA: Only humanitarian issues on Moscow meeting agenda

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Spokeswoman for Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan has stated that Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan is leaving for Moscow, where the consultations of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia will take place.

“According to the call of the Russian President, the agenda focuses on humanitarian purposes” cessation of hostilities, exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of fallen soldiers,” she said.

 

On October 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a statement on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh:

 

“After a series of phone talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Russian President urges both sides to stop hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone for humanitarian purposes to allow exchange of bodies of killed and prisoners of war.

 

Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia are invited to Moscow on October 9 to conduct consultations on these issued with the mediation of the Russian Foreign Minister.”
