Yerevan /Mediamax/. Former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has said that "President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is getting more brazen in his statements because of the incompetent and unpatriotic leadership of Armenia”.

Serzh Sargsyan’s office has stated that he has made this remark, reacting to Ilham Aliyev’s statement about the independence of Armenia.

“Ilham Aliyev, a khan of a despotic country, who inherited his position and whom the man that seized power in Armenia two years ago considers educated and praises and trusts enough to learn Karabakh’s history from him, is making a conscious statement that the entire history of Armenia’s independence is a history of shame.

Do you see the tragedy of what is happening? The President of Azerbaijan uses the same language to describe Armenia’s independent years as Nikol Pashinyan has used in his notorious speeches in the UN, PACE, and all other possible platforms.

Tyrant Aliyev is giving lessons in democracy to Armenia, defames our army and its distinguished officers and generals and speaks about the abuse of journalists and other blatant abuses and corruption of the current government of Armenia.

I am not surprised that Aliyev allows himself to make such statements, hates the Armenian army from the bottom of his heart because of the huge, shameful defeat it inflicted upon his country, despises the second and the third presidents of Armenia, the generals – none of it is news. His remarks could be expected also after the nonsensical statements of Nikol Pashinyan, who is obsessed with maintaining power, as he calls his own country “a completely failed state” for the entire world to hear.

As for Ilham Aliyev, he knows it is only him and Nikol Pashinyan that speak about corruption in Armenia, while international organizations, renowned media outlets and journalists are speaking about historic documents and bank accounts linked to Aliyev, about the “Azerbaijani Laundromat”, huge fortune and properties his family acquired worldwide, bribing of European MPs and many other scandalous discoveries.

Ilham Aliyev is getting more brazen in his statements because of the incompetent and unpatriotic leadership of Armenia, but he has to keep in mind that the mentioned leadership as well as his own regime are temporary and the Republic of Armenia with its triumphant army and many brave, patriotic sons is always ready to deliver yet another thunderous strike against the arrogant aggressor. He also should keep in mind that in the near future, when patriotic and capable forces are back in power in Armenia, the international community will once again demand from him to recognize the independence of Artsakh Republic,” reads the statement.
