Yerevan /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian stated that “package” resolution of the NK issue should be based on Azerbaijan’s recognition of Artsakh people’s right for self-determination and its implementation.

Edward Nalbandian said this, while commenting on the statement of Deputy Head of the President Administration, Head of Foreign Relations Department of the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov, who said that an agreement was reached on “stage-by-stage” resolution of the conflict at the recent meeting of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents in St. Petersburg.

“During that meeting, the priority was given to the stage-by-stage settlement of the conflict. That’s to say, from now on, it is necessary to act step by step in the settlement process: first, the liberation of Azerbaijan’s five districts, then two more districts and determining the corridor and afterwards, determining the status of Nagorno-Karabakh,” said Novruz Mammadov, Trend reports.

“This official, Novruz Mammadov, never participated in any negotiations. The summit in St. Petersburg was no exception. He only attended the working dinner at the last meeting, where the parties discussed only establishment of incident investigation mechanism and expansion of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office,” said Edward Nalbandian.

According to Armenian FM, no agreements were reached on the NK conflict resolution at the summit in St. Petersburg.

“In this stage, Azerbaijan should strictly adhere to the agreements reached and reaffirmed at the summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg, first of all, complience with the trilateral Agreements on Ceasefire of 1994-1995 of unlimited duration, establishment of incident investigation mechanism, and expansion of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. This will allow to create appropriate conditions for renewal of negotiations on settlement of the conflict,” said Minister.
