Yerevan /Mediamax/. Today in Artsakh, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and President of NKR Bako Sahakyan awarded servicemen who showed courage and bravery during the large-scale combat operations unleashed by Azerbaijan from 2 to 5 April.

“You showed everyone once again who Armenian soldiers, the soldiers who defend their homeland are. When you have to fight, you become the most disciplined, resourceful and combat effective soldiers,” said Armenian President.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that although times and methods of war change, spirit and morals remain the same.

“You proved that you’re far more combat affective, brave and enduring. How can we not be proud of a soldier who uses all his bullets to the last one, receives a wound and detonates a grenade to take out rival soldiers as well? How can we not name a soldier resourceful when he fires from a grenade launcher and shoots down a plane? How can we not be proud of a soldier who downs five rival armoured vehicles during the battle?” said the President.

The President emphasized that the life of every soldier and officer is invaluable.

“We only fear life in indignity and without freedom. We cannot do that. Glory to you, soldiers of the homeland, glory to our families, and glory to our army. Glory to your parents and your families, where you were born and raised, and to your teachers. I thank you,” said Serzh Sargsyan.

The Presidents of two Armenian republics also visited the Central Military Hospital of Stepanakert to see the treated servicement.

The Presidents came to see soldier Vrezh Bznuni and award him the Medal for Courage.
