Yerevan /Mediamax/. Today, UN representative office in Armenia organized a “model” conference, devoted to regulation of Armenian-Turkish relations.

Mediamax reports that 30 young men and ladies from various regions of Armenia are participating in the conference. During the “model” conferences, the work of any of UN structures – in this case UN Security Council is imitated. 

The participants of the conference play the roles of 15 countries – members of UN Security Council. Each participant has previously studied the official stance of “their” country on the theme of Armenian-Turkish relations. At the end of the conference, at 18:00, a resolution is expected to be approved as to the given issue. 

Representative of UN Public Information Department Maria Dotsenko stated that such negotiations stimulate development of communication and negotiation skills among the youth, as well as the spreading of information on UN principles and values. 

“This is the most important topic for the Armenian youth, they should try to consider this issue from the points of view of other countries, liberating themselves from stereotypes”, Maria Dotsenko stated.
