Yerevan /Mediamax/. Russian President’s Advisor Sergey Glazyev thinks that Armenia’s membership to Customs Union and Eurasian Economic Union will contribute to development of processing and high-tech production.

“We establish joint economic space to develop cooperation ties, manufacturing and high-tech production. That’s why the Customs Union is set up and customs barriers are removed. Cooperation with Armenia in the fields of mechanical engineering, instrument making and nuclear energy will develop”, said Sergey Glazyev in his interview to Vestnik Kavkaza newspaper.

“As for Azerbaijan: there is mono-economy here linked to oil production and export which is naturally a competitive edge for Azerbaijan. The income flow from this field is enough for development of the social and educational fields and meeting all the state needs. Expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan in this regard is mainly seen in the concerted policy on the oil, oil products and gas market”, said Russian President’s Advisor.

“I think the only way for Georgia to bring back sustainability of economic development as well as removing barriers in commercial and economic cooperation with Abkhazia and South Ossetia is to join the Customs Union. Unfortunately, Georgia still pursues the path of establishing association with European Union. Association with the EU will only consolidate current utterly tough and unpromising state of Georgian economy as the EU doesn’t want anything from Georgia but political subordination. The EU considers Georgia as a springboard for fighting with Russia”, concluded Sergey Glazyev.
