Yerevan /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan stated today that the phone conversation on the eve with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov took place at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side.

“During the telephone conversation, we discussed what was discussed during the last year and was registered as a result of the meeting in Brussels, namely, the mechanisms for setting up a delimitation and border security commission, as well as shared the views of the two sides on starting negotiations over the treaty,” Mirzoyan said at the parliament.

As to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, the Armenian foreign minister said:

“Our ideas about it are still in force. We see the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the format of co-chairmanship. Unfortunately, the differences between the co-chairing countries at this moment – for well-known reasons – are not favorable for them to hold a discussion, and we can not allow any vacuum to emerge in this regard.”
