Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham ALiyev believes that the Council of Europe may become a platform that could contribute to the process of building confidence between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Azerbaijani president’s press service reports that Aliyev stated about it today in Baku during the meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejcinovic Buric.
According to the statement, Aliyev briefed Pejcinovic Buric on the “new situation created in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan’s proposals on normalization of relations with Armenia as well as the current situation in the liberated territories.”
“The head of the state noted that the Council of Europe could also play the role of a platform that could contribute to the process of building confidence between the two countries and the establishment of an integrated South Caucasus region,” the statement read.
