Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov during the phone call on the situation arising from the provocations and continuous violations of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan on the border area with Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Ararat Mirzoyan also presented Armenia’s position regarding the launch of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a peace treaty. In this context the importance of the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship was highlighted.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov also referred to the process of implementation of arrangements reached by trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021 and November 26, 2021.
Press service of Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the interlocutors also discussed issues on Armenian-Russian cooperation, high level reciprocal visits, events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia.
During the phone talk the ministers also touched upon the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
