Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani Presiden Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Charles Michel discussed today the developments in Ukraine and "their possible effect on the regional security of the South Caucasus.”
Citing Aliyev’s press service, TASS reports that “during the conversation, the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus, the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the issues of opening communications and delimitation of borders were discussed.”
Mediamax notes that in December 2021, at a trilateral meeting of Charles Michel with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, certain agreements were reached on the resumption of railway communication, after which the Armenian prime minister several times expressed hope for their legal formalization.
