Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Ararat Mirzoyan assured today that the formulations of the president of Belarus “have nothing to do with Armenia’s foreign political agenda.”

With the request of one of the deputies of Armenian parliament, Mirzoyan referred to the statement of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko that “Armenia has no place to run, what do you think, does anyone need them?”:

“It is not the first time that the ingenious geopolitical analyses and comments of Alexander Grigoryevich draw the attention of different international partners, become subjects of discussions in different countries, including in our. We strongly believe that these formulations were addressed to serve the domestic political agenda of the president of Belarus,” the minister said.

Mirzoyan confirmed the information that ambassador of Belarus was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia on February 8 where the Armenian side conveyed its convictions that the reciprocal statements of the two countries “should be based on mutual respect, interests and sovereignty.”

“However, in case of relevant official note, we are ready to support Belarus at various international arenas,” the minister added.
