Yerevan /Mediamax/. The CSTO peacekeeping forces will not stay in Kazakhstan for long, spokesperson of the country’s president Berik Uali said.
“The key mission of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces is to protect strategically significant facilities,” he said.
TASS quoted the spokesperson as saying that the arrival of the peacekeepers allowed the country’s forces to fully switch to the fight against terrorists.
“Since our strategic facilities are under the protection of the CSTO troops, our armed forces, including the National Guard, and other forces were involved in the destruction of terrorists in Alma-Ata and in a number of other regions,” Berik Uali said.
