Yerevan /Mediamax/. On October 26 Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian started a working visit to Saudi Arabia.
“This unprecedented event is definitely a turning point in Armenia’s international relations,” the presidential press service said in a news release.
“In conditions of absence of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Saudi Arabia since Armenia’s independence, when no Armenian official has ever visited the country, the Armenian president made a historic step, visiting for the first time the state which has an exclusive role and significance in the Arab and Islamic world,” the news release said.
