Yerevan/Mediamax/. Spokesperson for Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan has announced that the Armenian Embassy and Consulate in Syria work in an emergency mode.
“Our diplomatic mission receives operative information from the Armenian community in the north of Syria and stands by ready to provide support. There are no military operations in the Armenian-populated areas at the moment, therefore, we do not consider evacuation,” said Anna Naghdalyan.
She highlighted that the number of Armenians in northern Syria makes around 3000, and they live mostly in Qamishli and Al-Malikiyah.
