Yerevan/Mediamax/. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has expressed the hope that the negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program will be successful.

He stated it addressing a speech at the joint summit of BRICS, EAEU and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ufa on July 9.

Iran and the international P5+1 are expected to come to a final agreement in Vienna today on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions.

“I would also like to express hope that success would crown negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file, which in its turn will strengthen both international and regional security and stability, as well as open up new opportunities for the economic cooperation. Armenia, as a friend and good neighbor of Iran, really wants it,” said the Armenian President.

In this speech, Serzh Sargsyan spoke about the conjugation of the Eurasian integration and Silk Road Economic Belt initiative “which can harmoniously interact and ensure a new stage for the implementation of the extensive infrastructure and transport projects in future.”

“In case of Armenia, the construction of the railroad connecting Armenia to Iran might be such a project, which would provide the EAEU nations with the direct access to the Indian Ocean through the Persian Gulf. The feasibility study has already been prepared, and the Project is open to Public Private Partnerships. We hope that companies from the countries present here will display interest toward this project,” said the Armenian President.
