Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian government intends to regulate the rules of the game for producers and importers of vodka, Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan said in Yerevan today.
Mediamax reports that the Minister said this, commenting on the essence of draft laws, approved at yesterday’s session of the government, which provide for changes in the law on “Protection of Domestic Market” and two other laws.
“If at present licensing and a corresponding state duty is provided for producers of vodka, and licensing is not provided for importers and there is a fee for import of a particular volume of vodka products, the draft laws provide for introducing licensing and collection of a state duty also for imported production”, Tigran Davtyan said.
According to him, this way, equal and comprehensive conditions will be established for importers and producers of vodka, and legislative changes will contribute to improvement of the quality of vodka, sold in Armenia.
Touching upon the approved draft law on changes in the law on “Fixed payments for tobacco production”, Minister said that this is only an edit correction, which does not provide for any changes in taxation of the sphere.
