Yerevan/Mediamax/. Import of polymer raw material from Iran to Armenia has been stopped over 2 weeks and it may affect the food production and agricultural sectors, Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UMEA) stated this today.

“Iran stopped the export of 53 types of products to foreign countries and as a result, the import of polymer raw material (polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene) to Armenia has been stopped over 2 weeks and it will have an extremely negative impact on particularly the food production and agricultural spheres. Arrangement of importing polymer raw material from other countries will take at least 30-40 days and naturally, at a higher rate which will entail growth of price for goods. The UMEA turned to Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan asking him to help settle the issue with the relevant bodies of Iran”, the statement of the Union reads.
