Yerevan/Mediamax/. On the initiative of NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange, an international conference on "Global Capacities of Local Markets: Infrastructure and Regulation” started in Yerevan today.
Greeting the participants of the conference, Deputy Chairman of Armenia’s Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan paid a special attention to the fact that the conference is the first joint event of associations of regional stock exchange and central depositaries, Mediamax reports.
He expressed the confidence that stock exchanges and depositaries of the region should unite their efforts to ensure progressive development of capital markets.
“NASDAQ OMX has accomplished extensive work over the first years of its activity, but the results are not satisfactory yet”, said Nerses Yeritsyan expressing the belief that Armenian capital market will rev up in the nearest future especially after introduction of accumulative pension system.
The conference, which will last till October 8,will focus on issues of cooperation of stock exchanges and depositaries, development of securities market, technical, legislative and other issues as well as prospects of local markets introduction to global ones.
NASDAQ OMX Armenia acting CEO Karen Zakaryan spoke about the themes of the conference and expected results in his interview to Mediamax.
