Yerevan/Mediamax/. Today, Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan expressed the hope that the talks on creating a free trade zone with the European Union will start by the end of the year.
He said that “the talks will begin as soon as Armenia gets ready for them, and there are no concrete terms yet”. The Minister pointed out that the government takes serious steps to start the process and has already reached significant progress.
Tigran Davtyan outlined the basic directions which require work in order to launch negotiations with the EU: elimination of technical barriers in trade (standardization), issues of sanitation and phytosnitation, problems of protection of intellectual property.
