Yerevan /Mediamax/. The session of the interdepartmental commission coordinating the works of the second stage of Armenia’s Strategic Defense Review (SDR) was held in Yerevan today.
It was chaired by the Secretary of National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
Arthur Baghdasaryan said that the Strategic Defense Review process is an effective mechanism of forming modern Armed Forces, neutralizing military threats and ensuring military security.
“The joint works of the interdepartmental commission coordinating Armenia’s SDR process and interested bodies over around 4 months resulted in elaboration of documents on risks assessments and Armenia’s security environment to submit them to Armenian President’s approval. The adoption of the document is of strategic significance. Moreover, the document will give start to elaboration of a number of fundamental strategic documents by the staff of the National Security Council”, he said.
Arthur Baghdasaryan said that they will work out scenarios of development of military-political situation and options of their realization as well as joint algorithm of military-political decision-making process.
