Yerevan /Mediamax/. Defense Ministry of Armenia has stated that an incident took place today in the border area of Gegharkunik marz. The incident involved Azeri troops that had crossed the border.
“Several dozen shots were fired at around 15:00, presumably, in the air. After that, the units of the Armenian army fired warning shots.
The Azeri commander contacted the Armenian units and asked to cease fire, apologizing and explaining that the shots were made by accident.
Armenian Armed Forces warn that a repeat of such incidents will be considered a purposeful attempt of confrontation and will lead to corresponding actions of the Armenian side,” the ministry said in the statement.
