Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ministry of Defense of Armenia has announced that as of the morning of May 18, there are no changes in the situation that Azerbaijani Armed Forces caused on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on May 12 and 13.
“The situation is relatively calm, and the units of the Armenian Armed Forces are preventing the attempts of the Azeri troops to conduct sustainment works.
The situation in both Syunik and Gegharkunik marzes is under the full control of the Armenian Armed Forces. The ministry envisages that the negotiations on the full resolution of the current situation will continue tomorrow, on May 19.
Emphasizing the need for a peaceful settlement of the issue, at the same time, Armenian Armed Forces are ready for any development of events. We emphasize that encroachments on the Armenian sovereign territory are absolutely unacceptable. Azerbaijani servicemen are obliged to leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia without preconditions and refrain from such provocations in the future,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
