Yerevan /Mediamax/. Deputy Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Artur Sargsyan has stated today that upon decoding an Israeli-made radio station found with one of the killed Azerbaijani officers, the Defense Army has discovered that the enemy groups in several sections of the conflict zone are coordinated mainly in Arabic.

Intense fighting took place on the entire frontline on October 1. Azerbaijan continued to attack the Defense Army, using planes, helicopters, a whole arsenal of missiles and armored vehicles, and special units of the armed forces.

During the fighting that took place on October 1, Azerbaijan lost 39 armored vehicles, 4 Su-25 planes, 3 Mi-24 helicopters, 17 UAVs, and 830 troops.

“The dynamic of the hostilities, the weapons used, the military equipment and the number of personnel were unprecedented especially in the northern and southern sections. There are no significant changes in the operational and tactical situation,” he said.

Arthur Sargsyan has added that the tension eased a little throughout the night, but the shelling continued non-stop.

“The Defense Army has fulfilled its duties brilliantly and perfectly, thwarting the enemy’s every attempt to advance. Having failed, Azerbaijan followed its usual policy and targeted again Armenian settlements and the civilian population, the cities of Martuni, Martakert and Hardut in particular, killing and wounding citizens and journalists,” he said.
