Yerevan /Mediamax/. Spokesperson for the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan stated that the F-16 fighter jet of Turkish Air Force has shot down Armenian Air Force’s SU-25 jet.
The statement reads as follows:
“Today, F-16 fighter jets of Turkish Air Force took off from Azerbaijan's Ganja Airport at 10:30a.m and were ensuring Azerbaijani SU-25 and Turkish-made Bayraktar UAV strikes from the Azerbaijani Dalyar airport in the direction of the Armenian settlements and land units of Armed Forces stationed in Vardenis, Mets Masrik, Sotk regions of Vardenis region.
“During the mentioned period, our Air Force was providing air support to the Air Defense units of the Armenian Armed Forces.
While performing the combat task, during the anti-aircraft battles, the F-16 fighter jet of Turkish Air Force shot down the SU-25 jet of Armenian Air Force in the airspace of the Republic of Armenia.
The SU-25 pilot unfortunately died.
The F-16 fighter jet of Turkish Air Force was at 60km depth and 8200 altitude.
