Yerevan /Mediamax/. Spokesperson for Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan has announced that Azerbaijani armed forces have started firing at the Armenian military base in Vardenis district, using air force as well against the Armenian positions.
“Expect a tough response,” she stated.
Earlier today Foreign Ministry of Armenia has described as “completely false” the statement of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry that Armenian forces in Vardenis district shelled Azerbaijan’s Dashkasan district.
“These claims are completely false. They have one purpose – to lay foundation for expansion of the hostilities, including an offensive against the Republic of Armenia. We strongly condemn Azerbaijan’s attempts to further destabilize peace and stability in the region. The military and political leadership of Azerbaijan bears full responsibility for the consequences,” Armenian MFA said in a statement.
