Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Department of Public Relations and Information of Armenian Police has stated that the police discovered the body of former Chief of Police Hayk Harutyunyan.
Harutyunyan had a gunshot wound in his head. The preliminary version of the investigation is suicide.
The body was found in Harutyunyan’s private house.
Hayk Harutyunyan held senior positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and police over many years of his career. Hi was Minister of Internal Affairs in 1999-2003 and Chief of Police in 2003-2008.
