Yerevan /Mediamax/. Legendary rock start, Deep Purple lead singer Ian Gillan said in Yerevan today that he has personal and spiritual bonds with Armenia.

Ian Gillan said this during a press conference ahead of the opening of Gyumri N6 school answering the question why he chose Armenia for charity, Mediamax reports.

"I have selective approach to charity. Over years, I have been involved in various charity projects and I have been disappointed with them, to say the least of it. Besides, all this is personified for me as I saw the aftermath with my own eyes. I have personal and spiritual bonds with Armenia. It wasn't difficult for me to do charity", said the rock star.

Despite the fact that the opening of the school marks the logical end of Rock Aid Armenia project, Ian Gillan expressed the hope that the gifted pupils of the music school will continue supporting the recovery of the city.
