Armenia to get additional expert assistance from NATO

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The delegation of NATO headed by the Director of Partnerships and Cooperation Directorate in the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, Alberto Bin, visited Armenia on Augist 7-9.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reports that NATO officials were accompanied by NATO Liaison Officer in the South Caucasus, William Lahue.

 

The goal of the visit was to discuss the steps of the Armenian Defense Ministry and provide methodological assistance within “Building Integrity” initiative.

 

The members of the group held separate meetings with Armenian First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan and Deputy Minister Ara Nazaryan.

 

At the meeting with David Tonoyan, the parties discussed the policy of “Building Integrity” initiative in the context of defense reforms in Armenia, the Strategic Defense Review and cooperation with international partners. The parties highlighted the need to cooperate with other state bodies and the civil society. An agreement was reached under which Armenia will receive additional expert assistance from NATO.

 

The delegation of NATO also visited NATO Office in Yerevan and the Law Institute of Armenian Ministry of Justice.
