Yerevan/Mediamax/. Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetian said that he was going to renounce “feudal tendencies” in governing the city.

The Mayor said this in the interview to “Echo of Moscow” Radio Station, commenting on his plans to transfer some spheres of municipal services to private management, Mediamax reports.

“The spheres having business-logic should be transferred to private investor,” Karen Karapetian stated.

“There are, certainly, such feudal tendencies- the more branches, spheres or companies you control, lead or manage, the stronger you become. It is absolutely wrong. Moreover, we are ready to transfer our fully owned subsidiary companies to private management, for example the “Yerevan City Council”,” Yerevan Mayor stated.

“I believe that a strong manager or a team, who is fully convinced that he is right, must not prove his case only for “exercising his muscles,” Karen Karapetian stated.

At the same time, the Mayor admitted that representatives of the business “do not feel yet that we are sincere and will go till the end in our approach.”

“Corruption risks decrease in business management. We must create a system which will allow people earn money legally. Any fight against corruption envisages resolution of a basic issue. If you fail to resolve it the corruption will not be eliminated. If you don’t give a chance to earn legally, everyone seeks ways to do it himself,” Karen Karapetian stated.
