Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and Bayraktar Savunma company signed a memorandum on establishing training and testing center in Kiev region for Turkish Bayraktar UAVs and training of personnel for their exploitation.
TASS reports that the document has been signed in the presence of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“It is a real big step forward. I am grateful to president Erdogan. It is a real support to Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence,” Zelensky said.
Notably, the document was signed on September 29 when Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin were meeting in Sochi.
Under the document, Bayraktar Savunma will build training and testing center for maintenance, repair, modernization of Bayraktar UAVs.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the next stage will be the establishment of the Ukrainian-Turkish production of the UAV. Bayraktar Savunma plans to invest its own funds in the construction of a drone production plant in Ukraine.
