Yerevan/Mediamax/. Head of "Armenian Forests" public organization Nazeli Vardanyan said today that Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection has not yet carried out an expertise of the GeoProMining Gold Company’s crusher on breaking the gold-bearing ore from Sotq ore deposit.

Mediamax reports that Nazeli Vardanyan recalled that by the law on “Lake Sevan”, the activity of mining companies is completely banned in the territory of the Lake.

“Sevan will be polluted by that waste. We demand dismantlement of the crusher”, she said.

They also noted that GeoProMining Gold does not have a station for cleaning and filtration of wastes, and as a result, the rain and running waters wash the wastes away into the Lake.
