Yerevan /Mediamax/. At the regular session today, Armenian Government approved the draft amendments to the Criminal Code, which establish the order for criminalization of unlawful enrichment.
The draft determines that unlawful enrichment is the case when in a certain period of time officials and persons connected with them have an increase of property or decrease of responsibilities, which essentially contradicts their legal income.
The draft suggests imprisonment of 3 years at most for unlawful enrichment, as well as prohibition to hold certain positions and realize certain activities.
“Unlawful enrichment threshold is considered to be AMD 5 million and more,” said Armenian Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan.
