Yerevan/Mediamax/. Ambulance calls in Armenia didn't increase over the summer as compared to other months of the year, said Director of Yerevan Ambulance Service Taguhi Stepanyan.
Addressing a press conference in Yerevan today, Taguhi Stepanyan reported that the highest number of ambulance calls is registered in January (15 575), and the number of calls in June and July made 13 626 and 14 262 respectively, Mediamax reports. 6310 ambulance calls are registered in the period of August 1-14.
According to Taguhi Stepanyan, the monthly number of calls in 2011 grew by 1000 on average as compared to 2010. “We serve 500 calls on average on a daily basis, and 80 -100 of them end with hospitalization'', said Taguhi Stepanyan.
She also informed that the old car park was fully replaced with emergency cars imported from China. As a result, 88 new ambulance cars serve Armenia, 35 of them -Yerevan.
The Director of Ambulance Service claims that the cars get to the call location within 7-12 minutes.
