National friendship reserve may be founded at Armenia-Iran border

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia and Iran intend to broaden the cooperation in the sphere of environmental protection.

Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan had a meeting with Iranian Vice-President and Head of Environmental Protection Organization Masoumeh Ebtekar on February 22.

Masoumeh Ebtekar noted that collaboration between Iran and Armenia in the sphere of environmental protection has strengthened in the past few years, and mentioned in particular the signing of Memorandum on Understanding.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the issues of Araks river pollution, foundation of national friendship nature reserve at Armenia-Iran border, development of ecotourism and projects on preservation of certain animal species.
