Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said today that “Turkey will stop to consider Armenia as an obstacle to its programs after it gains full influence on our political processes.”

He said it implies that Turkey must have dominating positions in Armenia’s economy and have full influence on the political elite.

“This will be possible after Russia’s presence here ends and is replaced by Turkish. This is also possible if Armenia fully renounces Artsakh. This policy will undoubtedly be supported by the United States,” he said at a news conference.

Robert Kocharyan said today Armenia is following that path.

“I have never been against establishment of relations with Turkey but the establishment [of relations] has common procedure while what happens know is unclear. With the format I see today, we do not negotiate with Turkey but with Turkey-Azerbaijan unit and the agenda has been formed by Azerbaijan and voiced by Turkey. It is not the right way to establish bilateral relations,” he said.
