Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s former president, Republican Party chairman Serzh Sargsyan stated today that “my decision on Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union was a right one.”
“After these years I can confidently state that the decision I made on Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union was a right one and together with you, Dmitry Anatolevich, our joint initiatives on extending the term of deployment of the Russian military base in Armenia and expanding its authorities signed in 2010 were right. To date there is a strong, unrealized potential for cooperation between Armenia and Russia. Unfortunately, the efforts of the current government of Armenia in that direction are insufficient, inefficient, and sometimes even the opposite,” Serzh Sargsyan said at “The global challenges of the XXI century: Inter-Party Dimension” international, inter-party video conference, addressing the leader of the United Russia party, former president and prime minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
